Mandy Barker is a an award winning British photographer whose work focus on the pollution on the sea.
She creates these beautiful collages . Her work really stands out and has signature look to it i think no matter where you go you would recognise it.
Her work was exhibition at the Wintergardens Museum in Sunderland.
This was a project about connecting art and science. ,Mandy Barkers work is a perfect example of this. She obviously uses her art to communicate a message of pollution in the marine and it really gives you a visual representation of what kind of prison the marine life live in.
Each of the images represent a type of pollution that we are all very ignorant to.They are stuff like balls, deflated balloons etc all these are stuff we associate with children. Children are very innocent and they most of the time do not understand the impact that these things can have on the environment.
I think the use of these items is very powerful as anyone and everyone globally will relate to what they mean. It is a world crises and all of us should come together to fix what we have destroyed.
This exhibition was creating a platform where science and photography exist symbiotically and address these types of issues.
